Hi.
I haven't seen YOS Joomfish template before, but I just went to the website and it looks as though that does exactly what you need: assigns different templates to different languages. But its not working for you?

Well there are other approaches. First of all you could try to develop a template which auto switches stylesheets depending on the language and the presence of the RTL meta tag. I think if you look at the code of the Beez template you'll see how Joomla does this.

Second approach would be if you can set up the site so that each language is accessible via a different menu item, then its possible to assign each template on the basis of which menu item is clicked. This happens in the Template Manager.

But really it looks as though YOS Joomfish Template plugin will do this for you, so it might be worth asking the developers for help if its not working.

Help required. On next steps RTL...

We've also just taken on an Arabic client.
A great post. You've helped us immensely!!!

We've followed your process and it works like a bomb. We've now got two templates one English one Arabic. We've used YOS Joomfish Template plugin to switch between the two.

We've also downloaded Joomfish and bought YOS translator (not working) for content management. Be that as it may...

We are now doing the translations - what do we need to do in order to link the translations to the correct template...

There must be some coding required.
Please help

There didn't seem to be enough information on this -- at least not in English -- so I'm happy to have helped. You're right though, there are no short-cuts with this, but it is at least quicker than making a template from scratch.

Thanks for touching this. I recently bought a template just to find that it's not "RTL aware". Even the free template available do not mention if they are rtl aware or not; and mostly that mean no.
I tried to follow your instruction, but it's not an easy task.
